Ruang Kolaborasi Perempuan
About Us
History
Founded by women, for women, our journey started as a small initiative and has now become a growing movement for equality and collaboration.
Ruang Kolaborasi Perempuan (RKP) is a social organization committed to empowering women, especially those from marginalized and low-income communities in Indonesia. We believe that when women have access to skills, resources, and supportive networks, they can achieve economic independence and become agents of change in their families and communities.
RKP was founded by Muthmainnah Bahri in 2018. Initially, Ruang Kolaborasi Perempuan was formed because of concerns about the many young women who could not get jobs and did not have their own alternative income to meet their living needs. Most of them married at a very young age (16-20 years) due to family economic pressures, so they had to drop out of school, become housewives and depend on their husband’s income. This condition places women in a vulnerable condition. In addition to living in poverty, women are also often victims of domestic violence due to economic problems.
RKP was formed to provide free access to learning so that women can develop skills and knowledge to get jobs or become entrepreneurs to achieve economic welfare. With economic sustainable, women can have many choices and opportunities to get a decent life, higher education, and good health services.
